Duduk Duduk!
So I have officially had my last day of school in 2007. Which means that as of this moment the term from hell has come to a conclusion with my maths project being submitted yesterday and my malay oral taking place today. Now all I have to worry about it how I'm going to lug all of my books to KL to study for the mocks.
Last weekend was fun and excitement as Lizzy and I went to Banting, Malaysia for a homestay trip to improve our bahasa malay! It goes without saying that this was a most exciting and.... unusual experience. We went to about 3 weddings, the beach, saw their Kampung and most importantly we ate. We ate a lot. In fact, thats mostly all we did because we went to the weddings and were fed, we sat with the family and we were fed, we went to the beach and were fed, we went to a market and they still tried to feed us! So I probably ate more in those 3 or 4 days than I would in 2 weeks in the boarding house!
Now to illustrate the wonder of our experiences, I have added a few photos which should at the very least crack a smile (the first one will at any rate!) It's Lizzy and I playing dress up; we were given these cantik (beautiful) clothes to attend the wedding ceremonies so as we at least looked as though belonged (even though we really didn't!)
Behold! The unfathomable flowery display of malay-ness. It was all good fun and I enjoyed wearing it, even if i did look ridiculous. Though I believe standing next to Lizzy in her yellow and blue atire was enough to keep me amusied all day.
This is us with the family outside their house. We were staying with the head of the kampung which is apparently quite prestigious and had a great time attempting to understand what on earth anyone was saying (it involved a lot of miming)
This is us at the pantai (beach) after having been to wedding number 4 (or something like that)
Anyway now I am off to see the Golden Compass which I am looking forward too. I've heard mostly good reviews and I love Pullmans books so am looking forward to seeing it in film and see how its been adapted. I figure they cant go too wrong with the graphics I've seen, the actors they have and the plot itself.
Anyway next post will either be a Christmas one or a Langkawi one, depending on how efficient I am at posting. (not very)
