Everyone is off on Summer Holidays...

...and I'm back in Singapore

I spent most of the week from Indonesia in bed ill but am as right as rain again just in time for everyone to up and leave me for lovely exotic countries around the world. So I am left twiddling my thumbs at home

Though I could always go fishing...

(Yes, It's me in there)

On a different note...pictures from Indonesia

This is in Anyer, about 2 hours outside Jakarta. It's a lovely area...some of it's a bit run down but then you see areas like this which are gorgeous.

Goats...why not? They were nice goats. We fed them apples.

It looks almost Balinese...but it's not. It's in Anyer. Once again, it looks positively lovely.

So me...at Rainbow Hills goalf coarse...not actually playing golf but merely crashing the cart :D How fun.

It was a lovely area with a lovely hotel surrounding it. A hotel that sadly never got finished so is more of a collection of somewhat cleverly placed concrete blocks with trees growing out of them. Like the building in this picture.

The same hotel...with mum's caddie...she was determined I get a picture of his back so there it is.

I often wonder who the teenager here is.

It looks almost like a fairytail pathway. I thought it was cute...

adventures!

So I am back in good old Jakarta - just for a week or so though. It has been an interesting little jaunt so far involving several raher amusing adventures (as does often happen when Debbie is around).

So far I have completely changed my hair so it is now red (with a few evil steaks of blonde dotted about) and a bit of a fringe-type-thing on the side. It looks good - I think. I have also cleared out the stores here and bought lots and lots (which is always good, really). So a good trip.

On the Wednesday (2 days ago I think) we went went out to Batavia and looked around some of the museums - the Jakarta museum and the puppet one. It was good though the Jakarta museum was a little empty...nothing much has been left from all the rioting.

Anyway yesterday involved a trip to a place called Anyer which is a little port town two or three hours from here. That was an - interesing - excursion. We went to see if we could make it over to Karakatau to see the volcano - or rather what's left of it.

Anyway we made it by about 9.30 and found a hotel to peg out in for an hour before we found out how to do the trip.

Well...Debbie phoned up a tour guide and asked how it was all done. According to the man we could quite easily make it out to Krakatau and see the place. No problem he says. May have trouble getting back because of bad weather. But for 3 million rups (just over 500 sing dollars) he'd do it anyway.

We declined and decided to save it for another day.

On the list of silly things which hapened is being taken hostage by a hotel (who were demanding 400,000 rups for parking because we didn't have a stamp) and a hotel which let us in for a drink a week before they actually opened.

We had a lovely picnic by the sea however and fed the goats. Lovely and quaint (ish)

I'll post some pictures when I'm back in Singapore and have the right cable.

The Formal

Well Then. Friday night was our grade 10 formal, marking the end of 2 years of IGCSEs (not that we have technically finished them yet).

The night involved lots of civilized chitter chatter with a lovely (absolutely delisious...no complaints what-so-ever) meal (okay it was ghastly and I barely ate anything).

We sat and listened to some oh-so-fabulous people singing (well there was one good singer...and several amazing musicians) and then twaddled off in a general home-ish direction (which turned out to Liz's house and no where near my own).

So here are some pictures with which to entertain yourself.

Firstly a fabulous picture of me with the free teddy we all got courtesy of Martyn though I don't think it was him that took the picture.

More group photos - from left to right - Nicole, Me, Lizzy, Jin, and Guchi

William and the amazing hat and flower. I have to say his style shall never cease to amaze me.

Before the formal (yes I realise these are not in order) Me, Jin and Liz.

I'm a right poser really.

Jasymine and her food. She loves her food.

Martyn and I.

So thats it...well okay I have more pictures but they shan't all be posted. I shall merely leave you to admire the few that are here.
